Can I Contact IITN If I Have Questions After I’ve Checked In?

Unfortunately, we cannot assist with any issues after check-in. As a platform, we only facilitate the booking process and our work is completed once the check-in is done. For any questions or problems that arise after check-in, please reach out directly to your landlord or the management company. They will be responsible for handling any issues related to the accommodation during your stay.

Can I Extend My Contract?

Unfortunately, it is not possible to stay longer than your end date stated in your contract. However, if there are any other accommodations available which you are interested in, feel free to apply to those.

Can I Sign The Tenancy Agreement For A SHH Partner Accommodation Without A Student Housing Hunter Service Agreement?

We partner with Student Housing Hunter (SHH) to facilitate the rental process for international students and expat for specific accommodations. Their monthly service fee is included in the advertised monthly price and covers various services provided by SHH, such as administrative support and the availability of the accommodation on behalf of the landlord.

SHH collaborates with landlords who agree to rent exclusively to international students under SHH conditions. As Internationals In The Hague (IITN), we can only offer these accommodations based on SHH’s conditions. Unfortunately, it is not possible to rent the housing without their fee, as it is an agreement between the landlord and Student Housing Hunter. Therefore, the monthly costs advertised on our listings includes both the rental cost and the services provided by SHH.

If you prefer to rent without an SHH Service Agreement, you can choose accommodations that do not display the orange ‘Welcome to NL Offer’ banner.

Question 4

Can I Start My Contract On A Later Date Than The Advertised Availability Date?

It is not possible to start your contract on a later date than the date which is mentioned in the advertisement. However, it is possible to check-in on a later date than the starting date of the contract.

Can I Start The Booking Of Multiple Accommodations?

It's not common or advisable for tenants to fill out multiple forms, as each requires a one-time-payment. This can result in unnecessary expenses, especially since only one accommodation can be secured in the end. While some may choose to apply for several options, it's important to note that once the booking process begins, cancellations do not result in refunds.

You are welcome to apply for multiple accommodations, but please consider this policy before proceeding.

Can I Visit Your Office So You Can Help Me Find Accommodation Or So You Can Answer Some Of My Questions?

We represent landlords, and therefore don't require any agency fees from the (prospective) tenants.

It would be very inefficient if every person who is looking for housing would come to our office, and, not forget to mention, it would increase the workload whilst we do not get paid for this service. We would not be able to do our work properly as we would never have enough capacity to provide this kind of service to every person, free of charge.

As we have (ofcourse) many templates with loads of information and have our booking process automated, this works very efficient for us.

Question 7

Can I, As A Parent, Rent Student Housing For My Child Who Is An International Student?

No, you cannot rent student housing using your details and have your child live there. The student needs to fill in their own take-in form with their own details. As a parent, you are allowed to be the guarantor. This means that all details must be provided by the student tenant, including their email address. You may fill in your details as a parent in the guarantor section. If we find that the take-in form is not filled in correctly, we will reject it. Any attempt to provide false information may result in the denial of renting with us, as it will be considered fraudulent activity.

Please note that no refund will be provided if we discover that false information or fraud has been committed.

Can Two People Stay In One Room?

In general, two (or more) people can't stay in one room unless otherwise mentioned in the advertisement.

Can You Pick Me Up From The Airport?

Yes, we can pick you up!

Please kindly note the following:

We can only pick you up if the pick-up appointment is arranged at least 48 hours beforehand.
The pick-up service is possible starting from 89,-- Eur. incl. VAT.

Question 10

Can You Reserve An Accommodation For Me?

Accepted Answer

We work on a first-come, first-served basis which means that the first person who signs the rental agreement and meets the financial obligations gets the room. We do not reserve or hold accommodations. However, if the accommodation is available per an earlier date than the date the accommodation has been booked by you, reservation costs will be invoiced to you. The reservation costs can vary between €125 - €200 per week for a room, or €325 - €500 per week for a self contained accommodation like an apartment or house. Please contact us to inquire about the possibilities.

E.G: I signed a contract with the starting date of 1 November but I will not check-in until the 1st of January. How much will I be paying?

Kindly note that when calculating the weeks, the results will always be rounded up.

E.G: 27 days divided by 7 = 4 weeks.
