If you are confident that everything is in good condition, you may choose to proceed directly with the check-out. However, without a pre-check-out, any issues found during the final check-out cannot be corrected, which may result in additional costs.

Is A Proof Of Payment Sufficient To Arrange The Check-In?

Accepted Answer

Yes, a proof of payment is sufficient, but only if the payment has been received before the check-in.

We do not handle the check-in process directly. Depending on the accommodation you are leasing, the management party or landlord is responsible for scheduling the check-in. If the payment is not reflected in the bank account at the time of your check-in, the check-in will not be able to proceed, and a no-show fee may be charged.

To avoid any inconvenience, we recommend ensuring payment is confirmed before the check-in is scheduled by the management party or landlord. This will prevent you from being left in front of closed doors after traveling.

The decision to proceed with the check-in is in the hands of the responsible party, and we strongly advise notifying us, Internationals In The Netherlands once your payment has been made.

Question 3

Is Cleaning Included In The Rent?

Cleaning is included in some rental agreements. It depends on the accommodation. If it is included, it will be stated explicitly in the advertisement and in the contract.

Cleaning refers to surface cleaning of the indoor common area's which are reachable without the use of a ladder.

If you would like to have periodically cleaning or if you need any one-time cleaning done, you can book one with us. In this case, you can choose between a surface cleaning or a deep cleaning of different areas such as; common areas, bedroom(s), garden etc.

Question 4

Is It Possible To Stay For Only A Few Weeks?

Yes, the minimum rental period is 1 week. We provide short stay accommodations for a minimum period of at least one week. In that case, the advertised monthly rate will be calculated pro rate to the period you would like to stay but it might be subject to an additional fee because of the short stay.

Is It Required To Be a First-Year Student To Rent A "Welcome To NL" Offer?

No, it is not required to be a first-year student to rent a "Welcome To NL" offer.

While this offer is specifically designed in collaboration with Student Housing Hunter to support (first-year) students who often need extra assistance with securing housing and setting up essential services like insurance, bank accounts, and mobile phone subscriptions, it is still available to students who may need additional guidance, regardless of their year of study. If you are already in the Netherlands or not a first-year student but find yourself needing extra support, you can still take advantage of the "Welcome To NL" offer.

Question 7

Is Registration At The Municipality Possible?

Registration is mandatory by Dutch law for all stays longer than 4 months, and therefore you are also obligated to register yourself as soon as possible when the contract enters into force. Kindly note this may be a different date than the contract signing date!

Dutch law does not require registration for any stays shorter than 4 months. For that reason, we explicitly exclude this possibility with short stay contracts (stays for four or less months). The main reason for this is that of the administrative hassle like taxes and the deregistration process. Therefore, short stay accommodations are often more favorable priced.

Is Smoking Allowed At Your Accommodations?

Smoking inside the property is not allowed; this applies to both the common and private areas in the accommodation. Smoking is not only unhealthy, but leaves stains on the ceiling and walls.

Smoking is allowed in outside areas such as the garden or balcony.

Is There Bed Linen And Towels In My Accommodation?

Is There Somewhere I Can Store My Bike?

This varies as no accommodation is the same. It is only allowed to store a bike in a designated area such as a garden, barn, or storage. This area should be reachable without bringing your bike into or through the accommodation itself. And if needed the bike can be stored on the street with a good lock. Check with the specific advertisement in question if there is any designated area to store your bike.
