What Is The "Welcome To NL" Offer?
Please note:
Accommodations marked with the orange “Welcome to NL” tag are part of a relocation service specifically designed for international students moving to the Netherlands for the first time. This service is mandatory for all tenants booking these listings and is provided through Student Housing Hunter (SHH).
To qualify, you must be relocating from abroad. This is verified via the address you submit in your application form. If you are a Dutch citizen or already live in the Netherlands, these accommodations are not available to you, and we recommend checking out our other listings instead.

What Does the “Welcome to NL” Offer Include?
The package includes relocation support and tenant services throughout the tenancy. SHH coordinates the following:

Coordination with the Landlord SHH acts on your behalf in all communications with the landlord—such as signing contracts, resolving maintenance issues, and managing your tenancy experience.

Translation Support Dutch rental agreements are standard. SHH provides English translations or summaries so you can fully understand the terms. Please note: the Dutch version is always legally binding.

Registration & Integration Support Help with municipal registration (BRP), setting up a bank account, arranging a Dutch SIM card, registering with a GP (doctor), and, when leaving, support with deregistration.

Travel & Pre-Arrival Support
- Assistance with booking flights and airport transport
- Help finding temporary accommodation if you arrive before your check-in date

Ongoing Assistance Additional support for international tenants may be provided depending on your needs. More details can be found on the Student Housing Hunter website.

What Does It Cost?
One-Time Service Fee
A mandatory, one-time relocation service fee is charged before the start of the tenancy. The maximum is €1,500, but the actual amount depends on the specific accommodation. This is paid directly to SHH, not to the landlord or our platform.
Monthly & Additional Costs
Rent and recurring service charges (like cleaning or utilities) are outlined in the tenancy agreement. These costs are not included in the service fee and vary per listing.
